Company History

Our first bowling center, Sparta Lanes, was located in New Jersey and built by W. Harvey Ely Jr. in the 1960’s (sold in 2004). Since then the Ely family has expanded and re-branded all of its centers under the Pin Street name. The family currently owns four centers:

Frontier Lanes in Warwick, New York (now Pin Street at Warwick)

T-Bowl in Wayne, New Jersey (now T-Bowl II, a Pin Street Entertainment Center)

Hamilton Lanes in Hamilton, New Jersey (now Pin Street at Hamilton)

Galaxy Lanes in Ft. Myers, Florida (now Pin Street at Ft. Myers)

The business is currently owned and operated by W. Harvey Ely III, the founder’s son. Our corporate founder, W. Harvey Ely Jr., passed away in 2008 at the age of 90. He was an active partner in the business until shortly before his death.

W. Harvey Ely, Owner

Harvey grew up in the bowling business. He started as a center cleanup boy at his dad’s first bowling center, Sparta Lanes. His father made certain that he had experience in all phases of the business (and he is now doing the same with his son, Billy Ely). He lives and breathes bowling and is a member of the Morris County Bowling Hall of Fame. He can be found bowling in several of his center’s leagues alongside his customers.

Harvey graduated from University of Michigan in 1976 and started working full time with his father and subsequent partner, W. Harvey Ely Jr.  Since his father’s death in 2008, he is the primary operating owner of Pin Street, Inc.

Terry Saracino, General Manager

Terry started as a center employee at T-Bowl in 1972 and was promoted to manager in 1978.  She was asked to become Chief Operations Officer of the chain in 1997 and has recently taken on the additional role of Center Manager for T-Bowl II.

Over the years, she underwent extensive industry training in sales, marketing, and lane maintenance. As a result, she trains most new full-time hires, regardless of the position. Under her watch, Pin Street consistently outperforms competitors and upholds its reputation of providing exemplary customer service.

Billy Ely, Assistant General Manager

Billy Ely has been bowling since he was a child. However, his accomplishments reach far beyond the family business. He is an avid golfer, with a handicap of 2 and a NJ State Boy’s Golf Championship title under his belt. He even achieved a Hole In One while still in his teens.

He joined the Pin Street team after graduating from the University of South Florida in 2010 with a degree in psychology. He is now the Assistant General Manager, and can be found bowling in several leagues with his dad. When he’s not bowling or golfing, he can be found pursuing his other hobby, photography.
